Hey guys, Here the second part of the generalist Tip&tricks ! This is my process for most of my environments work from creating quick nice layout with world machine, kitbashing lightings and finishing with Particles effects. I believe that you might know few of theses tricks but I hope others can still learn something new from it. I will be more than happy if this could be helpful to help your creativity and productivity !
Lighting – Work with lightings kitbash. Export different lights and Vray preset to speed up your workflow ! Merge and use them as a starting base
Phoenix – If you have Phoenix extension, add some water effect to your environments by adding a PhoenixOcean displacement. It’s simulating waves and more..and it’s animated !
Zbrush : I like to duplicate rocks sometimes to create nice Terraces. Simply use the Dynamesh and sculpt more details after. You can always optimize by removing the faces underneath.
Lighting – Separate your Spec from your diffuse light, so you can tweak each values ( diffuse and spec ) separately and avoid any burnt renders !
After-Effects / Photoshop – Use your Zdepth pass to create quick fakefog. It’s perfect when you’re doing an animation and you can’t ‘rendertime’ afford a Vrayfog
Particule Flow – Create nice Atmospheric effect like air dust to improve your atmospheres !
